How do I apply?

Download the application form. The completed form, your fee, and digital images must be received by April 1 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 1303 S. Bross Lane, Longmont, CO 80501.

What are the photography categories?

There are two categories: Traditional/Realistic and Creative/Special Effects.

Traditional/Realistic – images exhibit realism no matter how it was created. These images may be highly edited or enhanced as long as the final result looks like a traditional or realistic photo.

Creative/Special Effects – images exhibit creative/artistic effects and have been obviously manipulated.

How do I enter my photographs?

This is a juried show so adult and youth (Grades 6-9) artists must submit digital images of their work for review prior to admission into the show. The digital images are sent as a part of the registration. (NOTE: You can make changes to your choice of entries until April 1, 2013).

What are the requirements for the digital images?

Digital photos for review should be .jpg files sized at 2048px in the longest dimension and not more than 300 dpi.

How will I know if I have been selected?

You will receive notice via the email address you provide when you register by April 5.

If selected as a participating artist, what are the requirements for the final art?

The size limit is 48 inches on the longest side including mat and frame. There is no minimum size. Matting and framing is at the discretion of the artist with wire hangers on the back for hanging. Tags for the art will be created based on the information you provide on the registration form.

When do I deliver and pick up my art?

Please check the schedule for date and time.

Can I participate in the Gift Shop?

If you are accepted into the show, you are automatically accepted into the gift shop. You may register for "gift shop only" if you submit two images of your work and complete the registration process. Your work must still be juried in.

What awards are given?

Award ribbons are given for First, Second and Third place in each of the two categories and there is an overall Best of Show. First place in each category and Best of Show are also awarded $75.00.

If my art or Gift Shop items are sold, how is the money handled?

St. Stephen's will collect the money and the sales taxes, pay the state sales taxes, and mail you a check. A 20% commission is deducted from all items sold (including gift shop items).

NOTE: ALL participating artists are encouraged to give at least two hours of volunteer time to assist with the St. Stephen's Art Show.
